Guidelines for Authors Guidelines for Authors

Authors are requested to follow these guidelines in order to guarantee that their presentations will be succesful and that the conference program will be developed as planned.

If you have any doubts regarding how to prepare your platform presentation or poster, do not hesitate to contact the conference secretariat at secretariat@pi08.com

Power Point files
Authors are encouraged to prepare their presentations in advance of the Conference. Our IT personnel will make sure that the presentations are uploaded to the server and available for the speakers when they take the floor. Please bear in mind the following points:
  • Platform presentations should last 15 minutes. There will be 5 additional minutes for questions.
  • A maximum of 20 slides is recommended (15 should be enough for most presentations).
  • Use any template you wish. Leave the topmost area for the time information bar. If you wish, you can download the conference template.
Power Point - presentation
Uploading your presentation
  • Upload your Power Point files and short CV before you travel to the conference website. You will receive an email with instructions on how to do this.
  • If you cannot upload your presentation in advance (strongly recommended) make sure that you do it one day in advance of your presentation at the speakers room.

On the day of your presentation
  • Meet the chairperson of your session in advance as instructed. Make sure you have provided a short text so you can be introduced to the audience and people will know who you are.
  • You will be provided with a wireless presentation device, laser pointer and wireless microphone.
  • Remaining time for your presentation will be discretely displayed on the top of the screen during the presentation. The system will close the presentation if a speaker notably exceeds presentation time.
During the presentation
If you are presenting a poster
  • Prepare the poster according to the template (especially important is the maximum size)
  • Print the poster at home and bring it with you
  • You will be able to set up your poster from the afternoon of March 11th at the Conference Hall.
